About the Salon
Johnny Kalangis is a digital media producer, creative director and filmmaker who has worked in multiple traditional and emerging media types for over 20 years. Recently, he created a series of interactive film installations for Nuit Blanche in Toronto, starting from artistic concepts he had absolutely no idea how he would build, with a particular interest in encouraging audience interactivity and creating environments that react to visitors.
He’ll share his journey through the trials, errors and successes of creating an interactive experience and working with microprocessors (think Arduino and Raspberry Pi) and software like Pure Data and VVVV.
