Workshops are two days in length. Participants will work in multiple small groups, each of which will be assigned a faculty member who has digital expertise.

Apply with an idea you want to develop into a digital project. The idea can be roughly formed but should be a project that you or your group have been thinking about creating. Applying for a Digital Ladders Workshop is also a good way to ‘field test’ an idea that you’ve already started on and need help in moving forward.

Over two days, participants and faculty will work with you to round out your idea.

Your faculty will provide a road map to each day’s work, and the expertise you need to move from step to step. Each small group reports out to the larger group, so you’ll learn from the work being done in tandem by other groups.

Workshops are designed for anyone who has an idea they want to develop into a digital project. Your idea may still be in the formative stages, but you or your group can speak to your goals, what kinds of content/resources you currently have, and what you need. For example, you may want to:

  • Serialize an existing work into podcasts

  • Turn your visual art into an interactive experience

  • Come up with a digital solution to enhance ongoing audience interaction over time

You may want to attend as an individual or a small team of people who want to take the idea through the workshop experience. Please let us know.

This is an excellent opportunity to explore and flesh out your idea and identify what’s required to complete it. We hope that at the end of a Digital Ladders Workshop, you will be ready to execute or write up your idea for funding and planning purposes.

FEES per session

Workshops are free to attend for successful applicants. A stipend of $125/day per participant or team will be provided to help subsidize the time participants are taking away from their work.
